The story of our company began from an inspiration in Ecclesiastes 9:10, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.”
Engr. Edsel Y. Mercado, C.E., founder of EY Mercado Construction, was born into a family of skilled builders in Pampanga, Philippines. As a child, he developed a love for structures and dreamed of constructing buildings that would stand the test of time.
After studying at Mapúa Institute of Technology, where he was inspired by Massachusetts Institute of Technology-educated professors who built Manila’s pre-war buildings to global standards, he worked as a project engineer abroad, building airports, dams, and other magnificent structures.
Disappointed by the substandard structures produced during the low-cost housing era in the Philippines, he formed EYMC in 1999 to build to global standards. With over 1,380 projects and counting, EYMC has earned the trust of its customers for 23 years.
Over the last 23 years, EYMC has grown into a Preferred Engineering Partner by Fortune 500 and Philippine top 100 companies. It is the principle of delivering True Engineering Value for our clients that led us to shore when the tough got going. We stand by this promise for years to come.
